
Lora Monro
Lora was born in Birmingham and trained from an early age at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, where she won the student award for most outstanding all-round performer.
On leaving Italia Conti, Lora was offered a recording contract with International label Toco International. A European tour followed, performing live to audiences of over 20,000 people. During the promotion of her record, Lora performed on both National and International television. Other recordings include dance tracks for Rumour and Clone Records & a workshop recording for a new musical based on the Profumo affair. Lora has released two albums internationally as a solo artist ‘The Sound of Lora Munro’ and ‘Forever Sound Of Music’ which saw an International release in 2007. As a solo artist she has performed alongside Blue, Alison Moyet, Ant and Dec and Girls Aloud. She was also invited to perform songs from her first album at Madonna’s Birthday Bash!
Lora has worked as a choreographer for Companies including NEXT and Marks & Spencer and choreographed & performed in ‘Sinbad & the Pearl of Peace’ in the Middle East performing for the Sheiks of Dubai. Other appearances as a dancer and actress include: The spirit of the Dance (European Tour); Celebrity Musical Gala with David Jacobs,) Night Fever (Channel 5), Chalk (BBC), and Greasemonkeys (ITV). At 18years old Lora devised her own one women Cabaret show that incorporated 6 costume changes in 20minutes! The show toured for three years with appearances at CAFE DE PARIS and the exclusive ‘COBDEN CLUB.’ Lora has appeared for Qdos Pantomimes four times alongside Paul Nicolas, Cannon and Ball, Leslie Grantham, The Krankees & Sam Kane at Theatres throughout the UK.
She has successfully choreographed and Directed the Musical Theatre course at the prestigious ‘AIMS Classical singing Summer School’ and was invited to run a workshop at ‘Mountview performing arts school‘ in Pop and Commercial singing techniques. However Lora’s biggest passion is Flamenco dance. She has studied at the Centro De Baile, Jerez in Andalucia for the last 4years and in the UK studies under the personal direction of ‘ANA DUENAS LEON.’ Lora is the Founder of The Theatre Workshop Stage School, one of the UK’S leading part time Theatre Schools, her students can regularly be seen as lead roles on stage and screen. www.thetheatreworkshop.com.
